Below are the classes that Jeanina offers through the Cooperative Community Education Program. Submit class fees payable to the appropriate school district. 

 

 

Internet for New Users

This class is the ultimate starting point for senior citizens or beginning users who want to start using the Internet. You will be taught how to surf the World Wide Web, search the Internet effectively to find information using Google and other search engines, how to set up favorites, and many other “tips and tricks” of the Internet. This class will also discuss e-mailing, sending attachments, and creating folders for your e-mails. Prerequisite: Windows experience and basic knowledge of a PC.

Know Your Computer Start to Finish (Windows XP)

Baffled and intimidated by your new computer? This course is designed for people who have no computer background or very little experience with the computer. This hands-on course will cover the basic skills needed to use a computer and help you gain the confidence necessary to make it a productive tool. You will learn various parts of the computer, learn how to use the mouse and learn how to create folders/files, copy files, rename files plus much more. An overview of Microsoft Products will also be given. This is an excellent prerequisite course for new users who plan to take other computer courses. Seniors welcomed!

Introduction to Access

Students will learn the basics of this database software program. This class will include creating professional databases, adding information in tables and forms, creating queries, and designing professional-looking forms and reports. In order to take this class, please  have an understanding of relational databases. An Intermediate Access class will be scheduled based on the number of students interested in continuing.

Introduction to Word

This introductory class will teach students the basic skills they need to create documents.  Students will learn various ways to make documents that are professional and easy to read. Methods to Cut, Copy, Paste, Print through the tool bar and keyboard shortcuts will be covered. An Intermediate Word class will be scheduled based on the number of students interested in continuing.

Introduction to Excel 2003

Excel is a powerful, number crunching application! This introductory class will teach students the basic skills they need to create spreadsheets. Students will also learn how to access built-in formulas as well as how to create their own formulas. Adding attributes such as Bolding, Underlining, Italicizing will be demonstrated. An introduction to charts will also be part of this class. An Intermediate Excel class will be scheduled based on the number of students interested in continuing.
